A Wrap-Around Paper Binding
Tuesday 22nd October 2019Hull ScrapStore
This one-day workshop is ideal for the beginner to bookbinding. We will explore some of the materials and tools used in bookbinding and introduce some of the terminology you will hear.
We will be making a non-adhesive binding with flexible covers wrapped in decorative paper. Participants will fold and cut the sheets for their book, pierce the pages and hand-sew them to form a book block. Endpapers will be added and a decorative paper cover folded around to form an attractive pocket book.
There are a maximum of ten places available so booking is essential. A non-refundable deposit is required when booking, the rest being payable on the day.
All the materials and tools required will be provided, as will tea/coffee and biscuits. You will need to bring your own lunch, though there are shops a short walk away.
